Chelsea 1-1 West Ham

West Ham stay in 14th place after substitute Javier Hernandez scored the equalizer for the east London side in the 73rd minute earning an undeserved point.

Full-back Cesar Aziplicueta scored the opening goal of the game from a corner after he lost his marker Marko Arnautovic and volleyed into Joe Hart’s bottom right corner. Chelsea also had a goal from Alvaro Morata disallowed for offside in the early stages of the first half.

However, in the 73rd minute, West Ham striker Javier Hernandez (who had only been on the pitch for three minutes coming on for midfielder Edmilson Fernandez) finished neatly into the bottom corner of Thibaut Courtois net from a Marko Arnautovic pass.

The Hammers managed to hang on to a draw for the rest of the game with on-loan keeper Joe Hart producing two wonderful saves to keep the game at 1-1. After the match, West Ham manager David Moyes told the BBC that Joe Hart “made a couple of outstanding saves” and was awarded the Man of the Match award by Sky Sports.
